Hi, Linus from Flattr here. Was asked to reply in this thread, and feel free to ask anything related to Flattr I know it all =)
In regards to placing a link in the podcast description there are no indications that this would affect the podcast in any way or form. We choose this way of verifying ownership because this is a universal feature that any podcast service will allow editing. In comparison to other more technically complex that many services (eg Soundcloud etc) does not allow editing.
To know if the link has been properly added you can check the public iTunes page for your podcast, the description is readable there and should contain the Flattr link.
If you want you can remove the link once verified, but remember that people need to know where they should go to start to support you so the link serves a second as important function.
We are improving Flattr drastically for mobile usage right now and will have more updates on that soon.
First of all thanks for the answer … I noticed that it is different there is the speed as changes in the feed on the web page of iTunes and the iTunes program are updated. While the changes were already visible in the program after the feed update in the administration of the podcast on Apel iTunes Connect, the updates (the Flattr link) immediately appeared while in the web-based display of iTunes this was not the case.
This is very annoying that so checking the left on the flattr side is not possible without a long wait.
Thanks for the info, seems something is wrong, we will look into it asap!
On the note of iTunes service not updating fast, we have seen both quick updates (eg seconds) to very long (eg a day) and it seems to either be that the RSS updates matches some kind of general iTunes update or that it’s service used that does not pushes it’s updates to iTunes quickly, even if the local version of the data is updated. Regardless, annoying indeed.
